The annual Thames Festival kicks off this month, featuring a series of events along the river that have been supported by the Mayor of London and Arts Council England.
Below are events that are happening in Southwark’s Brunel Museum:
Isambard Brunel dans son Cabaret
Isambard Brunel dans son Cabaret is a week of underground performances combining artists, musicians and acoustic engineers. Invisible People with surprising stories, a love story in the time of revolution, a choir and a grand piano fifty feet below ground.
Monday, September 12 – Saturday September 17, 7.30pm, Brunel Museum Sinking Shaft, Railway Avenue, Rotherhithe, SE16 4LF
Mooring by Vocal Point
Ten years ago a heinous act changed Samuel’s life. For a decade, he never strays far from his beloved Thames, sleeping rough and keeping himself to himself – until he meets Tom. Inspired by true events, Mooring confronts riverside homelessness, remorse, and how we come to terms with our past.
Thursday, September 1 – Friday, September 9.
Authentic Blue
Authentic Blue made their premiere at the Brunel Museum earlier this year and are now back for two nights in this amazing atmospheric subterranean space that promises one hell of a backdrop for their powerful rock and blues, potent storytelling, vocals-to-die-for and sassy mixture of flute and sax.
Saturday, September 24 – Sunday, September 25 Sep, 7:30pm – 9:30pm
