Children across Southwark dressed up as their favourite book characters to celebrate World Book Day.
The literary celebration marked its 20th anniversary on Thursday, March 2.
World Book Day, in partnership with schools all over the UK, distributed more than 15 million £1 book tokens to children (that’s almost one for every child/young person under eighteen in the UK and Ireland).
Children could take their token to a local bookshop and swap it for one of ten exclusive and completely free World Book Day books.
