An appeal for witnesses of an alleged assault by a taxi driver on his passenger in London Bridge has been circulated by police.
Officers say the reported incident took place at 1.15am on Friday, May 17, with CCTV footage showing the driver of a Mercedes Vito Hackney Carriage appearing to brake excessively, injuring the passenger, as they travelled over the bridge.
Police say the taxi then stopped on King William Street, EC4, where the driver got out and dragged the passenger from the back door, before driving off with a new passenger.
Police are attempting to identify the man from the CCTV still (pictured).
PC Phil Hastings said: “Although I have now made contact with the injured passenger, we still need to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident.
“I would also urge the driver and the second passenger, who approached the taxi after the assault, to come forward and speak with us. “
Anyone with information should call 101.
