Police were back in Walworth’s Albany Road last night to break up an escalating dispute between a ‘group of youths’.

The Met confirmed it was called by a concerned member of the public who believed a fight was about to take place, by Burgess Park, at around 8.30pm on Wednesday, May 27.

No arrests were made and a sweep of the park did not turn up any knives or other weapons.

As we have reported, Burgess Park was the scene of a stabbing on Tuesday night, when a teenage boy was attacked near the corner of Wells Way.

Last Friday, another man was found injured on Browning Street with stab wounds.

The park has also become a focal point for parties and BBQs by groups flouting lockdown rules.
