A man was sentenced to six weeks in jail last week after pleading guilty to two incidents of theft while serving a suspended sentence.
Anthony McCallum, 47, stole groceries on two occasions from Tesco at Old Kent Road. On February 17, McCallum, of Thurlow Street in Walworth, stole £126.72 worth of goods.
On February 22, he stole a further £197.35 worth of groceries.
McCallum had received a suspended sentence after being found guilty of shoplifting on Christmas Eve and this was taken into account by magistrates during sentencing.
McCallum was also ordered to pay an £80 fine.
