A second arrest has been made by officers investigating the murder of a man in Greenwich.
A 25-year-old woman was arrested on Friday, July 30, on suspicion of murder and perverting the course of justice. She remains in custody at a south London police station.
The victim of the fatal stabbing in Welland Street has now been named as Reece Williams, aged 29.
He was found injured at 1.06am the same morning and passed away shortly after.
Near the scene another man, aged 20, was also found with stab injuries. He was hospitalised and remains in a stable condition. He has also been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Detective Chief Inspector Chris Wood said: “My thoughts are with Reece’s family as they come to terms with his tragic death. I can assure them that we will do everything we can do to bring those responsible to justice.
“My team has already spoken to a number of key witnesses who were nearby at the time of the attack, although I believe there were other people present who have not yet come forward. I would urge them to do so as soon as possible.”
Witnesses should call 101 or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
