Renewed appeal over near-fatal stabbing of boy, 16, in Bermondsey’s Druid Street

Police have launched a renewed appeal for information about a near-fatal stabbing of a sixteen-year-old boy in Bermondsey’s Druid Street.

The stabbing took place on Sunday, October 6th shortly after 10pm, in the vicinity of the St John Bakery.

An altercation is believed to have taken place before hand, said police. The victim received a “serious” stab wound and was “hospitalised for over a week for his injuries,” part of which he spent in a critical condition.

According to an attempted murder appeal circulated to the residents of the nearby Arnold Estate, “a large group of young males are believed to have been involved in the incident and it likely caused a lot of commotion.”

On Friday and Saturday, local officers circulated the leaflets in the hope of catching the people responsible for the stabbing.
