The long-awaited Bakerloo Line extension was thrown in the long-grass in August as a Transport for London (TfL) board member said it was unlikely to happen in her lifetime.

The extension, which if built would run from its current terminus at Elephant & Castle south-east to Lewisham via the Old Kent Road area, has been in the works for about twenty years. However Council leader Kieron Williams said they would push ahead with station revamp and would only commit to not ‘ruling out’ a tram.
