A teenager who was found badly injured at the Rotherhithe Tunnel last month has been released from hospital and is now recovering at home.
The nineteen-year-old from Bromley was discovered unresponsive at around 4.15am on June 26 with “serious head injuries”. An ambulance was called after concerned bystanders flagged down a passing police car.
The man was rushed by ambulance to hospital, where he remained in a critical condition for several days. His condition has since improved and he has returned home to continue his recovery.
Police are struggling to explain the incident. They are currently analysing CCTV footage from the tunnel for clues and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
Anyone with information on the incident should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
