Rotherhithe’s long docking history became a little more colourful last week when a huge ship was built from Lego in Surrey Quays Shopping Centre.
The three-metre long model was constructed by dozens of Lego-loving Southwark children last Wednesday and Thursday.
While it may not be sea-worthy, it certainly is worth seeing during its month-long stay in the shopping centre.
Residents are also being urged to submit their suggestions for the ship’s name, with the winner receiving a hamper of Lego toys.
