Surrey Docks Watersports Centre is offering sailing and windsurfing try-outs for free on July 16,  August 14 and September 17, as part of the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Summer of Sailing ahead of the Rio 2016 Olympics.

All levels of experience are welcome to the centre overlooking Greenland Dock, where a team of professional instructors will be on deck for guidance.

Steve Mitchell, RYA Regional Development Officer for London and the South East, said: “The Try Sailing day provides the perfect opportunity to experience dinghy sailing for the first time, or for people thinking about returning to the sport.

“The adventure begins here, so whether you are an individual, a family or a couple the venue will have an expert team on hand to take you on the water to help you have a fantastic session, and will do all they can to ease you into the sport.

“London and the South East have some fantastic sailing venues which includes both inland and coastal locations.

“Our venues are both accessible and affordable with membership very often much lower than an average gym membership or a session pass less than the cost of a family cinema trip.

“An RYA representative will be on hand at the Try Sail event to offer helpful advice and guidance on getting into boating along with options of where to go next. If you are thinking about getting into sailing, don’t miss out on this event”
