Santa’s grotto opens at Elephant and Castle

Katherine Johnston (05 December, 2020)

Independent traders are open for business

Elephant and Castle has a full Christmas line-up this year.

Today (December 5), Santa is visiting Castle Square to hand out gifts for children. His grotto will run for the next three weekends in the lead up to Christmas.

Castle Square and Ash Avenue’s traders are also serving up food and drinks. Its selection of independent traders is also the perfect place to stock up on Christmas gifts and stocking fillers.

Elephant & Castle’s Community Hub is offering a series of free virtual events, including ‘The Elephant Christmas Pantomime’, packed with Christmas Carols, Santa Storytime and dance performances.

There’s also a number of creative workshops for the whole family to pull their sleeves up and get crafty for Christmas; including hand-printed Christmas wrapping and cards and decoration workshops.

Further activities across the month include a Christmas-themed Latin Dance Aerobics workout, Puppet Singalongs and bedtime Christmas stories told by Father Christmas.

See the full schedule below for more details.
