A Kennington primary school has been praised for its work to help limit air pollution by getting kids walking to school.
Charlotte Sharman Primary School was visited on October 11 by councillor Octavia Lamb, the council’s deputy member for air quality, and a Greater London Authority auditor.
Both noted that the majority of pupils arrived on foot, and that the school had been an early adopter of the council’s School Travel Plan to promote walking and cycling.
Cllr Lamb said: “It was wonderful to talk to teachers and students at Charlotte Sharman School and see what they have achieved in terms of improving air quality, and learning how they plan to take this forward.”
