Second man charged and third arrested in Walworth murder investigation of Reginald Ofei-Berko

Detectives investigating the death of 25-year-old Walworth man Reginald Ofei-Berko have today charged a second man and arrested a third.

Reginald was found lying in Penrose Street on August 25 at 3.05pm. He was pronounced head in King’s College Hospital later that day.

Reginald’s grandmother – his next of kin – was said to be “distraught” and desperate to find out what happened to him.

Daniel Murphy, nineteen, of St Davids Close in Bermondsey was re-arrested on Tuesday, September six, and subsequently charged with Reginald’s murder.

He appeared in custody at Camberwell Green Magistrates’ Court today, where he was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on Friday.

Also today, a third man, aged 21, was arrested on suspicion of Reginald’s murder. He is currently in custody at a south London police station.

Previously, Leon Dixon, 36, of Brighton Road in Crawley was charged on September 3 with Reginald’s murder.

He appeared in custody at Camberwell Green Magistrates’ Court on Monday and was remanded in custody. His next appearance in court was at the Old Bailey on November 23 for a pre-trial preparation hearing.
