The Camberwell Arts festival is hosting a free Jubilee street party this Saturday (June 4) for anyone to come and celebrate on Camberwell Green.
Highlights will include a free lunch cooked by local restaurants, a cooking tips workshop, and a dog show with categories including best corgi – the Queen’s favourite dog – top tiara and Camberwell’s most regal pooch.
The event will run from midday to 3pm on Saturday.
Online, the festival organisers are also putting together a photo display showing how the area has changed over the past 70 years.
Other events in the area on the weekend include:
- Camberwell arts and farmers market from 11am-5pm on Saturday, June 4.
- A free Jubilee picnic on Myatt’s Fields Park from 1pm-3pm on Sunday, June 5.
- 1952: Southwark Stories – a free play put on by children that tells the stories of local people who were alive in 1952, the year the Queen came to the throne. Book here for performances on June 4 and 5.
