Southwark Council is offering “something for everyone, no matter the age or ability” as free training sessions and gym workshops will take place to celebrate National Fitness Day.
On September 7 free activities will be available to members and non-members at Camberwell Leisure Centre, Surrey Docks Watersports Centre, Seven Islands Leisure Centre, The Castle Centre and Dulwich Leisure Centre.
Everyone Active, a leisure management company, has organised free high intensity interval training classes at Surrey Docks Watersports Centre, 19:00. At Camberwell Leisure Centre free personal training sessions will take place from 08:00 to 14:00, and high intensity interval training at 9:00, 12:00 and 17:00.
A range of Functional Training Circuit Training sessions and 30 minute gym workshops will be available at the new Castle Centre. In the newly refurbished gym at Dulwich Leisure Centre 30 minute workshops are similarly accessible throughout the day.

Cllr Maisie Anderson, Cabinet Member for Public Health, Parks and Leisure said, “With Team GB’s fantastic Olympic success over the last fortnight fresh in our minds, National Fitness is a great opportunity to make the most of our leisure centres and try something new.”
Members and Non Members should be aware that there are currently no changing or shower facilities available at Seven Islands Leisure Centre due to investment in to the centre by Southwark Council.
