The NHS is to launch a new National Diabetes Prevention Programme in Southwark ahead of the rest of England.
The programme, to be rolled out in May, will provide a personalised education, healthy-eating and fitness programme for people at risk of developing type-two diabetes.
NHS Southwark Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has been the lead organisation for the programme. GPs have identified an estimated 300,000 people at risk of developing the disease across twelve south London boroughs.
