A number of Southwark police officers were hurt when they were allegedly attacked with “scaffolding poles and bricks” at an illegal rave in Lambeth on Halloween night.
The officers are recovering from minor injuries sustained in Vauxhall on November 1, when police attempted to shut down the unlicensed event.
The injured officers were praised by Chief Superintendent Pippa Mills for their “restraint and professionalism” in “challenging circumstances.” In total, fourteen officers received minor injuries and were treated at the scene. Sixteen people have now been arrested, with one person charged with assaulting an officer. Another has been charged for possession of an offensive weapon while the remainder have been bailed.
