Crossbones Graveyard is getting into the Halloween spirit with a couple of spook-tacular events at the end of the month.
First up, a free memorial service for loved ones, as well as for the “outcast dead”, will take place in the graveyard tomorrow evening. Attendees are advised to meet at 6.45pm at the Crossbones gates in Redcross Way for a 7pm start.
On October 31, a special ‘Halloween of Crossbones’ will take place.
The evening will take place at The Table Café in Southwark Street, and will feature an array of spooky celebrations.
A “ritual drama” will honour the dead, which will be followed by a performance of poems and songs. The evening will end with a procession to Crossbones graveyard and a memorial service.
Redcross Way will be closed between Union Street and Southwark Street on October 23 from 6.30pm to 8.30pm and October 31 from 4pm to 9pm.
