St Christophers’ Hospice is holding an online remembrance event for grieving families next month.
With many unable to say goodbye, see their loved ones in their final days, or even attend their funeral, the Sydenham hospice hopes the event will help give solace in the run up to an emotional Christmas.
The event will include performances from the cast of West End show Blood Brothers, and chamber orchestra London Mozart Players. Special guests include HRH Princess Alexandra, the hospice’s patron.
Andrew Goodhead, spiritual care lead at St Christopher’s, says: “Bereavement doesn’t end; it’s lived with, and we stay bereaved.
“Making personal and shared times to remember someone who has died, recognises the ongoing ties that we still have with that person.
“Our service of remembrance aims to bring comfort and a sense of shared support in your grief, despite all our very different experiences.
“Whether you lost someone unexpectedly to the “COVID-19 virus, or you weren’t able to attend the funeral of someone you loved, this event is an opportunity to mark the loss, as part of the community”.
The free event will be live online on Facebook and YouTube on 6 December 2020 at 4pm. For more information: www.stchristophers.org.uk/remembering
