Everything else might be closed until further notice but that doesn’t mean your 2020 beachbody has to be. In the wake of the Coronavirus lockdowns, the local fitness community is swiftly moving with the times to bring you virtual classes that you can do at home. To quote Arnold Schwarznegger’s recent Insta inspo (sidebar: watching the Terminator and his tiny horses on Instagram is guaranteed to lift your spirits while you #StayHome): “there are a lot of things we can’t control during this crisis, so we need to focus on what we can control…We can control our fitness.” Amen!
Holly Spence at ReFrame Pilatesis hosting online classes so you can get your Pilates fix from the comfort and safety of your home. Classes are live streaming using Zoom. Holly promises a judgement free zone. Forget the Lulu Lemons; PJs are now acceptable workout wear. Joseph Pilates’ wise words ring more true now than ever: “the mind, when housed within a healthful body, possesses a glorious sense of power.”

Brixton’s Fison Fitness is also beaming into your living rooms every day with free classes live every day.
“We are putting all these classes out for free but will continue to pay our teachers as we believe this is the right thing to do,” owners Joe and Anne said. “Having said that, for us to be able to do this we need some of our beautiful members, if they can, to sign up to our digital membership. We know it is a strange time and that is why there is no obligation to do this, it is more important to us that we keep putting out great classes for all of you.”
