A broad daylight stabbing on Tooley Street hospitalised a teenager last Friday afternoon.
Police say they were called at 3.25 to reports of a man armed with a knife on Tooley Street, near London Bridge.
They found a man, believed to be in his mid-to-late teens, who had been stabbed.
Paramedics took him to hospital in east London and the Met is currently waiting for an update on his condition.
One resident told the News St John’s Churchyard, just off Tooley Street, was still cordoned off at 5pm.
He said that residents from a nearby estate had repeatedly told police of their fears of a group of youths intimidating locals while cycling in the area.
A police spokesperson told the News “A male (no further details) was arrested nearby in connection on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.
“He has been taken to a south London police station.
“Enquiries continue.”
