A teenage boy is believed to fighting for his life after a stabbing in Kennington this evening (January 7, 2020).
Police have posed a section 60 within the area to allow them additional stop and search powers after the incident at around 5pm.
Officers were called to reports of a male found with stab injuries on De Laune Street, SE17, near Kennington Underground Station and rushed the victim to hospital.
A police spokesperson told the News: “A male believed to be in his teens was found with stab injuries.
“He was treated at the scene by the London Ambulance Service and conveyed to a South London hospital.
“We await an update on his condition at this time.
“At this early stage in the investigation, no arrests have been made.
“Officers from Central South CID are investigating and enquiries continue”
They confirmed that the section 60 order is expected to be in operation until 4am tomorrow.
