A teenage woman was stabbed on Kennington’s Cooks Road on Sunday, a week after Rhyhiem Barton’s fatal shooting on the same street.
Police confirmed officers were called by the London Ambulance Service at 02:50hrs on Sunday, 13 May, to reports of a stabbing on Cooks Road, SE17.
Officers and paramedics attending the scene found an 18-year-old woman suffering from a slash injury, who was taken to a south London hospital with injuries described as “non life-threatening or life-changing”.
The attack comes just eight days after Rhyhiem Ainsworth Barton, aged seventeen, was found with a gunshot injury on Warham Street on Saturday, May 5.
There is no indication the two incidents are related.
Police had been called to the scene after reports of gunshots heard on Cooks Road, at about 6.05pm.
The Met has appealed for anyone with information on this weekend’s stabbing to call police on 101, quoting reference number 926/13MAY or Tweet @MetCC.
