Teenager and woman in hospital after double shooting in Brixton

Police say their injuries are not life changing or life threatening

A sixteen-year-old boy and a woman are being treated in hospital after a double shooting in Brixton.

Police were called to reports of a firearm discharge in Somerleyton Road at about 11.05pm on Wednesday, June 6.

Officers and London Ambulance Service attended the scene and found a 34-year-old female with gunshot injuries.

She was taken to a London hospital for treatment; her condition is not life threatening or life changing.

A sixteen-year-old boy with gunshot injuries subsequently attended a London hospital.

His condition is not life threatening or life changing.

There have been no arrests and inquiries continue.

The incident comes after a double shooting in Wodehouse Avenue, Peckham, on June 2 left one man in a critical condition.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information is asked to call Trident officers on 101, quoting reference CAD 9111 02JUN18.
