Police are calling for witnesses to come forward after a teenager was rushed to hospital with shotgun and stab wounds on his way home from work.
The man, 19, was attacked at about 9.45pm on Friday, May 13, on Union Grove in Stockwell.
He is still in a critical condition in hospital. No one has been arrested and police officers are calling for witnesses or anyone with information about the attack to come forward.
Detective chief inspector Sarah Pearce said: “This incident has left a loving family totally devastated. The victim was just on his way home from work when he was attacked.
“He was a hard working young man who has never been involved in any sort of violence and they have been left stunned and dismayed that this could happen to him.
“We are supporting them at this difficult time and I would urge anyone who can help our investigation to get in contact.”
Detective Superintendent Neerav Patel, from the central south basic command unit, which covers Lambeth and Southwark, said the attack was “shocking”.
“I completely understand that the community will quite rightly be concerned. Please let me reassure you that we have an increased police presence in the area, if you have any concerns at all please speak to one of these officers.
“My colleagues from the Specialist Crime Command have been working around the clock since the incident gathering evidence and following-up leads to apprehend those responsible and bring them to justice. Please, if you have any information at all that will help their investigation then please call the police or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously.
