Over five hundred Brandon Estate residents came together to enjoy this month’s TRA’s summer fete held on Sunday, August 18, and officially opened by the Mayor of Southwark, Cllr Sandra Rhule.
Stallholders included the London Fire Brigade, Army Reserve with their fire engine and field ambulance in tow, and officers from the Met who brought along an armour-plated Rover 3500 police car used to transport Margaret Thatcher when she was Prime Minister.
After a cloudy start, the afternoon was all sunshine as adults and children enjoyed a dog show, donkey rides, circus workshop, flower crown making, African and steel drumming and a fashion parade, with a live DJ set from Darrell Bath, of the Ian Hunter Band, Dogs D’Amour, The Vibrators and UK Subs fame.
