Three Rotherhithe residents have been arrested following a “high-speed” police chase in Kent last Tuesday night.
Officers on patrol came across a black car near Queenborough, on the Isle of Sheppey, shortly before midnight, which they suspected had been stolen.
Police said they requested that the car stopped – but it allegedly failed to do, sparking a police pursuit through the Isle’s Cowstead Corner, Eastchurch and Leysdown.
Kent Police said the chase ended when the black car was involved in a “single vehicle collision” approximately nine miles away on Shellness Road, Shellness.
The occupants allegedly fled police on foot, but three were later arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and theft of a motor vehicle.
Officers said the three were a man, 26, another man aged 24, and a woman aged 23, all of Rotherhithe.
The trio have all been released, pending further enquiries.
