Face mask company Smart Cover donated more than 3,000 face masks to Waterloo food bank over the festive season.
The food bank has seen referrals rise by more than 130 per cent since the pandemic began.
Over Christmas, volunteers helped get 1,000 parcels to those in need including essentials such as food, toiletries and reusable, washable face masks.
The company says it is keen to help get face coverings to the most vulnerable people, and is exploring how to partner with more food banks and charities.
Matteo Grassi, CEO of Viceroy Group, SmartCover’s parent company said: “We are pleased to be able to provide support to Waterloo Foodbank, especially over the Christmas period when times are tough for so many people.
“We applaud their volunteers’ tireless work following a challenging year, and hope to continue working with their network to help communities in need.
“We’d like to thank Waterloo Food Bank for their hard work and support they give to local communities.”
