Two people were rescued from a flat fire in Brockley on Tuesday.
Fire fighters were called to the house converted into flats just after 5am on July 30.
A woman told them she was trapped in a ground floor flat and unable to escape.
Fire crews were able to rescue her and a man on the first floor before bringing the blaze under control by 5.45.
New Cross watch manager, Lee Davies, said: “Firefighters quickly dealt with the fire on the ground floor.
“Thanks to the information relayed by 999 control officers to fire crews we were able to locate the woman and bring her to safety.
“We also rescued a man from the first floor flat.
“The were both suffering from smoke inhalation and taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews.”
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
