Two suspected drug dealers from Southwark have been charged after Kent police discovered three mobile phones and thousands of pounds in cash during the search of a car.
At around 7.30pm last Friday, 12 February, officers on patrol stopped a car which was being driven in Rheims Way, Canterbury. Suspecting the two occupants were involved in the supply of drugs, the officers searched the vehicle and recovered three mobile phones. The driver and her passenger were arrested and more than £2,300 in cash was seized.
Ta-shan Thompson-Campbell, of Reculver Road, Rotherhithe, and Agata Lakatus, of Lucey Way, Bermondsey, were both later charged with being concerned in the supply of heroin, being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and acquiring criminal property, namely the cash seized.
Mr Thompson-Campbell, aged 33, appeared before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Monday 15 February where he was remanded to a hearing at Canterbury Crown Court on 15 March.
Ms Lakatus, aged 23, received conditional bail at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court to appear at the same Canterbury Crown Court hearing.
