More than a hundred King’s College Hospital NHS Trust staff came together – virtually – for their first ever Christmas single.
Singing ‘O Holy Night’, the choir is joined by several staff musicians including Consultant Neurosurgeon Professor Keyoumars Ashkan and his patient Dagmar Turner – who underwent brain surgery in January this year.
Violinist Dagmar, who plays in Isle of Wight Symphony Orchestra, was filmed playing the instrument during her surgery to ensure it did not affect her hand movement. Prof Ashkan provides the piano accompaniment on the recording.
The song is dedicated to everyone who supported King’s hospitals through this most extraordinary year, and remembering those who sadly passed away.
