Volunteers pulled together help Peckham Town FC over the weekend, helping to fix broken equipment and other damage by vandals.
The club has been repeatedly targeted over the last few months and left with thousands of pounds worth of bills to foot.
It was already in a precarious financial position due to lockdown match cancellations before being left with the huge bill.
The helpers came from all over London with a strong showing from Dulwich Hamlet FC’s fanbase and the Good Gym in Southwark. One volunteer, Gen Williams, tweeted: “Spent a very happy morning volunteering with other Dulwich Hamlet FC folks to help restore Peckham Town FC’s ground to a lovely state.
Painting, weed pulling and everything in between, and well-earned BBQ at the end. A satisfying Saturday.”
If you would like to donate ? to help us recover from the vandalism and make-up for the lost revenue due to the many cancelled games, then we have set up a @gofundme campaign.
