Local bus users have been left stunned by the sight of swanky buses cruising along the 63 route from King’s Cross to Peckham, writes Herbie Russell…
The brand-new, zero-emission Enviro 400 EV City bodied BYDD Electrics feature integrated seat-mounted phone holders, wood-effect flooring and a sunroof.
The buses, which burst onto the 63 route on December 20 2021, are part of TFL’s ‘Future Bus’ project, a range of improvements being introduced to the capital’s bus network.
In a tik-tok video, one bus user said: “They have flooring like it’s your actual house. Bougie Bougie!

“Look at the new chairs. I felt like I was on a coach trip around Europe!
“God damn TFL, you bougied up!”
However, not everyone is convinced. Twitter user, Steve Carr, said: “As per usual TfL eight years behind what has been done elsewhere, and the metro mayors think the London system is wonderful.”
As of September 2021, all new London buses have to be zero-emission in a bid to completely de-carbonise the fleet by 2034.
