A woman has been rescued after police raided a brothel in Bermondsey, officers said.
The raid took place on Friday (June 10), with officers from South Bermondsey, Rotherhithe, North Bermondsey and Surrey Docks community policing teams all taking part.
Police did not say exactly where the brothel was, but a photo posted to social media appeared to show the Rennie Estate.
The woman was referred to support services. Officers said they would be in contact with the owner of the property. No arrests have been made.
A spokesperson for the south Bermondsey safer neighbourhood police team said: “On 10th June 2022 Officers from South Bermondsey, Rotherhithe, North Bermondsey and Surrey Docks SNT’s attended an address on South Bermondsey Ward to conduct a welfare check/safeguarding enquiries on the occupants after receiving information that the address was a brothel.
“Officers were granted entry into the address where one female was found to be safe and well and has since been referred to support services. Enquiries remain ongoing and contact will be made with the owner of the address.”
