A woman has been handed a cheque for £1,000 after being picked from 2,300 tenants who took part in a council survey.
Charlotte Smith, who took part on Southwark Council’s online feedback survey for its major works programme, was the first of two winners for this financial year.
Charlotte said: “This is unreal, I never win anything. The prize came right in time for Christmas and I can’t wait to enjoy it with my family. Thanks Southwark.” The second winner will be announced in April 2017.
Southwark said the results of its 2015 surveys show that 90 per cent of respondents were “satisfied” with services they received.
Council leader Peter John said: “Congratulations to Charlotte. We want to make sure our residents live in decent-quality homes and we continue to invest millions into our major works programme to achieve this.
“We want to make sure both tenants and leaseholders are getting the best possible service from us and our contractors during the works. This is why we ask for feedback so we can continually improve our service.”
If there’s a prize, people are discouraged from writing anything negative in the survey so the results are biased.
