London’s iconic Borough Market has launched a carbon neutral postal delivery service for food lovers across the UK. As an addition to the Borough Market Online local delivery service for London-based customers, Borough by Post means that high quality food and drink from some of the Market’s best loved traders is now available nationwide for a single delivery fee.

Borough Market stayed open throughout the second lockdown so shoppers could safely buy food to cook and eat at home, while traders, restaurants and cafes served hot food for takeaway.
Ordering online via Borough Market’s website, customers can choose from a delicious range of cheese, cured meats, fresh fruit and vegetables, pies, bread, drinks and store cupboard ingredients, as well as four specially curated festive hampers.
The hampers, packaged in reusable hessian Borough Market bags, include a mulled wine set, sweet treats and a luxury Christmas selection.
In response to the pandemic, Borough Market has extended its online delivery zone to ten miles, with goods delivered by zero-emission electric bike and hybrid vehicles. The new Borough by Post service enables shoppers around the country to order their favourite treats from up to 20 of the Market’s expert traders with a single consolidated delivery charge.
Click and collect is also available from the market up until 9pm each day for customers who cannot shop during the usual hours.
Managing director at Borough Market Darren Henaghan said: “As London’s oldest food market, we’re committed to providing an essential service for customers living and working nearby…This new and expanded service means that people can still get their favourite comfort foods and special treats– and those who’ve read about us but never had the chance to pop in can now try some of our wonderful food without having to leave their homes.”
Borough Market is open for business from Monday to Saturday with social distancing measures in place. The produce Market now extends into the ‘Green Market’ area with take away hot food available from the Borough Market Kitchen traders.
