THE LONDON BOROUGH OF SOUTHWARK hereby gives notice that it proposes to make an Order under Section 247 of the above Act to authorise the stopping up of the following area of public highway shown hatched black on the plan attached to the draft Order.

  1. an area of footway forming part of 61 Southwark Street 49 metres by 3 metres;

All of the area to be stopped up falls within the London Borough of Southwark

IF THE ORDER IS MADE the stopping up will be authorised to enable the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with the planning permissions granted under Part III of the Act by the Council on 31 March 2015 and 24 February 2016 under local planning authority reference Nos. 14/AP/3204 and 15/AP/4503 respectively and any subsequent permissions granted under s73 of the Act

COPIES OF THE DRAFT ORDER AND THE RELEVANT PLAN MAY BE INSPECTED FREE OF CHARGE by way of appointment during a 28 day period commencing on   28 July 2016 at 160 Tooley Street, London SE1 2TZ by calling 020 7525 2135 and referring to 61 Southwark Street Stopping Up Order.  A copy may also be viewed on the Council’s website at http://www.southwark.gov.uk/highwayclosures

ANY PERSON MAY OBJECT to the making of the proposed Order within a 28 day period commencing on 28 July 2016 by written notice to the Director of Legal Services, London Borough of Southwark, 160 Tooley Street, London SE1 2QH quoting reference (LEG/RP/PL/LB/RE040/00060430).

In preparing an objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of it may be imparted to other persons who may be affected by it and that those persons may wish to communicate with the objector about it.

THE SCHEDULE

The extension, alteration and refurbishment of the existing office building comprising: – Ground floor and lower ground floor extensions fronting Southwark Street and Great Guildford Street. – proposed flexible use of the ground and lower ground floor unit (125 sqms) on the corner of Southwark Street and Great Guildford Street for retail or office use (Use Classes A1 or B1), – Extensions at fifth and sixth floor levels providing additional office (B1) floorspace, – single storey (inc.mezzanine) extension to the rear of the existing building developing existing service yard and undercroft fronting Keppel Row and Great Guildford Street, – Remodelling, alteration and refurbishment of the existing facades, and the building’s accessibility from street level – Associated highway works, landscaping and on – street disabled parking; installation of 26 condenser units and acoustic screening at roof level and Variation of Condition 1 (approved plans) of planning permission 14-AP-3204 to allow for:-

  1. a) Overcladding design detail of GRC and glazing of existing structure and building;
  2. b) Sto render ‘bird’s mouth’ detailing to the building corner;
  3. c) Addition of façade cleaning rails and associated structure;
  4. d) Insertion of openable windows in places;
  5. e) Insertion of new metal louvers/vents;
  6. f) Addition of façade cleaning ladder frame and railings;
  7. g) Addition of metal CAT ladder to access plant above substation;
  8. h) Gates to be divided into top fixed and bottom openable panes;
  9. i) Omission of headband detail of staircase;
  10. j) Existing rear lift shaft to be increased in height in association with the reconfiguration of plant at 6th floor roof

(net loss of plant units);

  1. k) Design clarification of plant screen height;
  2. l) Extent of basement reduced given site conditions;
  3. m) Door location moved
