Gavin Rose is recovering after contracting Covid-19, the club revealed on Friday.
The Hamlet start their National League South campaign this Saturday against Chippenham Town but manager Rose will not be involved for the “foreseeable future”.
Assistant boss Junior Kadi will oversee the side in Rose’s absence.
The Hamlet said in a statement on their website: “Men’s first-team manager Gavin Rose will not be attending games for the foreseeable future as he makes a recovery from Covid-19.
“Gavin spent a short time in hospital but is now recovering at home. We send him all the love and support possible, and implore fans to do the same.
“We’ll update you on his return when we can. In the meantime, Junior Kadi, Junior James and the rest of the coaching staff will look after the first team.
“Get well soon, Gav!”
