An eight-a-side junior football tournament on the Aylesbury Estate was won by a team from the Missenden block, by Vernon Neve-Dunn Players from the different blocks on the Aylesbury Estate came together to compete for the football bragging rights.
In a competition organised by Creation Trust and supported by the Football Foundation the keenly fought tournament took place on the estates solitary pitch. A spokesman said: “It was dark but the players hardly noticed.
It was amazing that they could actually see the ball. “The final was dramatic, won by the team with players from the Missenden block by nine goals to eight, defeating a strong team from the Taplow block.” The next competition will be the Friday night before half term in February.
