Docklands JFC under fifteens returned to pre-season action last week and have dedicated their first run out to Tommy Blackmore.
The 20-year-old Bermondsey boy was killed following an unprovoked attack outside a nightclub in June last year, and with his birthday passing recently the Docklands boys wanted to do something in his memory.
The team’s manager Danny Belcher said: “We dedicated this pre-season game to Tommy Blackmore and wore the shirts that paid tribute to Tommy.
“The boys in our team are from Rotherhithe and Bermondsey and we played against an adult team from the London city running club that are based at the Southwark brewing company.
“After a thrilling 4-4 draw our boys won the contest 4-3 on penalties.”
The youngsters are back in league action this weekend.
