Fisher FC’s third win on the bounce last Saturday saw them pick up three points and extend a run of form that is their best for almost six years.
Not since April 2010, when Fisher went on a six match unbeaten run, have the fans run outfit put three wins on the trot together and the 2-0 victory against Erith Town means there are also unbeaten since the turn of the year.
The goals at the weekend came from Frazer Bent and Harry Bugden but the game will be noted for a first half melee that saw four players exit the pitch for an early bath. Of the quartet only one, Joe Jackson, was wearing a Black and White kit and the Fish were able to see out a win against their undermanned opposition with some ease.
Their latest triumph lifts the Fish to fifteenth place in the Southern Counties East Football League and they now enjoy a fourteen point cushion over bottom side Holmesdale, who occupy the sole relegation spot. This weekend Fisher are in action at Champion Hill in East Dulwich, where they play their home fixtures, as Rochester United come to Southwark for a 3pm kick off.
