Millwall Lionesses completed the league double over Watford Ladies after defeating them 2-1 for the second time this campaign.
The two teams met just under a month ago and Millwall edged that encounter.
On Sunday two first half goals from Amber Gaylor and Georgie Giddings secured the latest win.
Despite a second half effort from Watford’s Ellie Mason the Lionesses managed to hold on to a much needed three points.
The victory gives the Lionesses a seven point cushion over bottom side Watford in the second division of the Women’s Super League.
Speak to www.fawsl.com after the game Gaylor said: “It is important that we beat Watford because we really don’t want to be at the very bottom.
“We’re working our way up slowly. We’ve had some bad luck in the past but things are starting to come together for us now.”
She added: “We’re definitely looking up the table now. We’ve improved so much recently and I think we’re thriving and looking to get higher.
“Hopefully, next year we’ll be a lot higher in the league. That’s our target for 2017.”
Millwall have three games left of their league season starting with a home fixture on Sunday week, when Sheffield FC Ladies make the trip to south London. For more information visit www.millwall.fawsl.com.
