It was an historic day for Dulwich College last weekend as two of their former pupils played in the Six Nations – on opposing teams.

Beno Obano won his first cap for England in their 11-6 defeat at home to Scotland in their Calcutta Cup Six Nations clash last weekend.

Camberwell’s Obano, 26, came on in the 72nd minute as a replacement for prop Ellis Genge in the shock defeat for Eddie Jones’s side.

He was the second former Dulwich player on the pitch, after Oliver Kebble had replaced Rory Sutherland in the 64th minute for the Scots.

Obano joined Dulwich in 2011 and studied Biology, Politics, Religious Studies and PE at A-Level before leaving to pursue a professional rugby career with Wasps.

While at Dulwich he helped the college win two Natwest Cup finals.

Obano visited Dulwich recently to help their seniors with some set-piece work and was generous in giving his time to answer questions about life as a professional rugby player.

Kebble, who is from Durban in South Africa, also studied his A-Levels at the southeast London college.
