FISHER ARE up to second in the SCEFL Premier Division table after a sensational 3-2 win at top-of-the-table Beckenham on Wednesday night.

Dean Harrison’s side raced into a 2-0 lead inside five minutes thanks to Harry Tobin and
Matthieu Ramsamy and took that advantage into the break.

But the hosts were level within eight minutes of the start of the second half through Eku Dean and
Shameek Farrell.

With the three points up for grabs, Tunde Aderonmu pounced twelve minutes from time to secure a fifth successive league win and close the gap to Beckenham to two points.

Fisher have one of the lowest budgets in the division, operating on around £300 a week, and have most of the same squad that won promotion from the First Division last season.

“We’ve got the majority of what we had last year with a couple of additions. What I’m learning in management at this level is that there’s a lot of money flying about this league,” Harrison told the News after Fisher’s 4-0 win at home to Glebe last Saturday. “We haven’t got a lot of it, but money goes nowhere if you haven’t got a tea that doesn’t want to play for each other. I think there are a lot of teams in this league whose players are there purely for money.

“We’ve got a team of players that know there’s no money here but they want to be here. I think that goes a long way.

“It’s the same as last year. All we would do us is ask if there’s anyone out there, local business people that could help, even if people could give £5, £10 a week to add to the budget, it all helps. Whatever anyone could give would be fantastic.”
