It was a poor weekend for junior boxers from Southwark last weekend as all six fighters taking part in the London Schoolboy Championships tasted defeat.
Three fighters from Fisher ABC and another trio from Lynn Boxing Club had all been crowned south-east London boxing champions this season but they all fell at the next stage of the regional competition.
All of the Southwark fighters were boxing in the class b category for boys born in 2002.
Lynn junior Zaord Vince lost out to Romero Michalewicz from the White Hart Lane club in the U50 kgs weight category whilst club mate Joe Coombes lost a split points verdict when he came up against Repton’s Joe Coombes in the under 38.5kg.
To complete a bad day for the Camberwell club Harry Mullins lost to a unanimous points decision in the under 29.5kg weight category.
Aaron Hickey from Bermondsey club Fisher took part in the under 44.5kg section but lost out, again on points, to Bilal Safari from Dale Youth.
Both Joe Cheeseman and Michael Avid from Fisher ABC had to take part in semi-final contests to make their respective finals on Sunday, but both came up short in their bouts.
